Minto
Look out for the very subtle borrows on the greens.
Physical challenge: Gradual hills
The Course
Situated between the Minto hills and Teviot Valley, a parkland course where trees are the main hazard, with a few sand bunkers. The first 10 holes have gentle sloping fairways, while the last 8 overlook the Teviot valley and are energetic in nature - some almost steep.
Best holes
3rd 421yds. The longest par 4, but uphill to the furthest part of the course. A wide fairway encourages you to try to reach the green in 2.
12th 267yds. A short par 4. If you do not carry this green with your drive, do not be short with your second, or you will be forever scrambling around the foothills of this vast mountain.
16th 297yds. A lovely par 4 driving hole, with a large tree on the right causing the average golfer to pull his drive out of bounds on the left.
The clubhouse
Roomy and comfortable. Toilets, basins and showers in both changing rooms. Bar has seating indoors and out and is open from 12 noon until 11pm.
Food and drink
Cooked meals and snacks are available every day.
Getting there
Follow A698 from Berwick to Denholm. Turn right onto B6405 just before village green. After crossing River Teviot, take 2nd road on right and follow Golf Course signs.
